Fifty years ago my grandfather went to Oviedo to buy from the San Claudio pottery factories. Recently my father and I went to see what was left. The factory closed in 2009, 108 years after it opened, second in Spain only to La Cartuja. What we found was an unintentional museum: kilns, warehouses, pieces everywhere. These were made in the seventies, when my grandfather was still buying there.
