Nomad Coffee

1 / 2

Since 2011, Nomad has been traveling to the source, meeting producers, and understanding where everything comes from. They are coffee roasters from Barcelona, with the firm belief that there is no other way to do things well.

When they contacted me, they had been looking for something like Cristal Antiguo for a while. A brand that hadn't made anything for this collaboration. That already existed. That had a history behind it, not as a selling point, but as a fact.

What we did together is simple: I recovered 125 French-made coffee cups from the 80s. Opaque glass with a satin finish, cobalt blue botanical decoration. Each one has a number. There is no mold producing this piece today.

Nomad works with coffee in the same way. They carefully select, looking at where everything comes from and under what conditions. In a world where all that seems to matter little, they bother to know. They care about what is behind the object, not just what is inside the cup.

That's what we have in common.

The things I keep here were not made to last a season. They were made to last. With care, with skill, thinking that someone would use them for years. Nomad shares that.

The 125 cups are available on Nomad's website and in their coffee shops. Numbered edition, no restock.

Sincerely, Juan.
